a buddy of mine says he sprays all under the car with Fluid Film to keep it wet and stop rust. Any other methods other than like Zebart ?

What is this Fluid Film? Why would you want to keep the metal "wet?"

I have used rubber undercoating in the wheel wells before. Makes them look nicer, and probably helps keep the rust away (It works as a sound-deadener too). But I think that doing that to an older car that has some corrosion already could actually trap moisture in and do more harm than good. I've heard that anyways, and it makes sense.

One of the previous owners of my car (before Jim) sprayed a lot of this car with the undercoating. There are some spots that are completely rusted through underneath. I wouldn't be surprised if it was done after rust already started. It may have helped slow it down to a point, but I don't really know how well it works unless it'* done on a brand new car.

fluid film is sorta like Rust Check its a waxy kinda sticky oil film that clings The problem with the Zebart tye it it seals in moisture and junk and when pcs break off the moisture gets uner it and RUST ! Think of the Fluid Film like a coat of oil thet repels water and stops rust. My buddy does his vans with used motor ol in a rust proof gun and they are all 94'* and are driven in Central New York road salt and they are like new. You can break any brake line nuts or any other fasteners loose with no problems.

i have heard of ppl doing this..but 94ssei has a good point.. i wouldnt want to do it if it was already rusty..seems like it would def. make the rust thats already there worse.

I'm curious how this oily wet stuff stays on the car without getting washed off
