Who sez they gotta be ugly? Picked up a CHERRY pair of steelies from a Buick Park Avenue today. Cleaned 'em up a bit and painted them with epoxy based wheel paint. Getting ready to have my new drag slicks mounted. I think the bronze will be subtle enough to not jump out at anyone, but still be a bit more of a match to the gold crosslaces on the Zilla.
These will also be alot easier to clean up after a day at the dragstrip now.
After cleaning, before painting:
After color coat:
After clear:
I'll add pics to this in about a week after they're mounted.

Two coats of color after roughing up the surface, then two coats of clear. Rubbed them down between each coat with a lint-free cloth.
Mounting Friday or Saturday. Not sure yet.

Ahhhh didn't I ask for you to keep my new rims and tires black/black?
That'll help get the power to the ground, and look good in the process.

Seriously though.. you needed them and we know you wouldn't ever all ugly on the rims. Any possible paint hitting the hood soon?
