Default Supercharger paint removal

I am in the process of rebuilding a supercharger to switch with the one in my car. I hate the color though and I know repainting it is the worst thing to do so I decided to try to remove the paint and leave it. It will look like polished metal, what is the best and cheapest way to remove the paint from the sc without turning it black and without using a dremel or sander? Thanks

Don't remove the coating. It is on the M62s for a reason; to help dissipate heat.

I think about the only way to clean it decently would require media blasting. Most likely and because of how well it holds up..my guess would be a great adhesion process that is tough to remove.

It happens,
http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...=811710#811710

I would say dont remove the paint on the SC, best be is to leave it alone.

I was only able to repaint(touch up) mine because i have access to automotive paint and toners, and it took me almost 45 mins to match the paint(tone it) even after scanning the color!

also this seams more like an appearance thing, so its off the D&A

ok, hold the phone!!

i did not just up and paint my SC, i know better then to do that!

what i did do was paint the bare metal only thus giving it a clean uniform look, and you can bet your *** i made sure the paint that i put on was a thin as possible!

i highly doubt i have harmed my SC in anyway, dont forget Bill, my SC has a very smoth port/polish job

Peter...I didn't mean to imply that you "hurt" it..merely added a little layer of less than perfect coating to it.

Heck..my charger is naked!
