Driverjohn painted one of his dash trim pieces white, but I don't know of anyone doing it to a 2000+.
You could always go over it with factory matched SEM paint.

did it match your interior trim color? and did you have to use a clear coat?

Well, I brought this duplicolor from Walmart that said "Silver Metallic" and it said it was a match to GM colors so I brought it along with adhesion promoter.

It matches but it'* not a EXACT match. I don't reallly care, it really lightens up the space and looks good and I didn't even bother with a clearcoat, I didn't want mine shiny, just satin.

Boost and Pat are the SEM paint experts. Maybe they can give you more info as well.

You want the SEM interior paint. It'* designed for vinyl and plastic.

Moving to Detailing and Appearance.

When I first tryed to paint my gauge cluster i used that "plastic" paint I didnt work with ***t, On the 2000-up all of the Texured plastics ...(i.e Gauge cluster, shifter console door handles and covers, vents) have a coating on them, to acheive best results...IT MUST COME OFF...Trust me. It can be removed by Oven cleaner and a scotch brite and good old elbow grease. Once it is all removed sand, prime sand, paint, clear and it will look just like the factory paint..Just gotta be patient. results are worth it. I would post a pick but my Dog ate my camera.......guess he thought it was really shiny bone.
