Wish me luck
I've used the cheapo kits in the past (years ago) but never a good-quality kit with a good reputation.
The problems:
The intended solution:
I figure even if I mismatch it by a little bit, the end result will be better than the problems as they exist right now.

First step is the backing material for the tear, and filling both to the surface with the clear vinyl repair adhesive/filler. That has to dry for 4 hours. I just did that, so I should be doing the color work about 5pm tonight.

I had pretty much the exact cut on my seat, sat in it with a screwdriver in the back pocket...
Used that kit, My color part was probably too thick, some of it has flaked off, but it is in a high wear area as well.

Half the year, this is my daily driver. And it obviously bothers me, and I do care, or I wouldn't have purchased the kit in the first place. I have a full car at lunch at work every day, and that back seat puncture is the only interior flaw besides the rip in the front passenger seat bottom.
With these two fixed, the interior will be nearly mint. Leaving only the hood to deal with.

It comes with texture pads. Put on the goop, then the pad, then heat it with the little iron.
I think the green would have been easier to match. Even on the tan vinyl, after the door, I had to adjust the color for the seat. And the color changes after you re-slime the vinyl and leather with your favorite jizz.
