Default reflective tint overlay

Im trying to modify my front parking lights by changing the lens colour. Im working on a pair of old lights that I repaired. Instead of all this work would it look good to put a layer of that mirror tint over the lights so they are reflective when off but light up amber? How well does light go through that one-sided-mirror tint?
