Default some tint questions

well next week sometime im probably getting my windows tinted, i have a friend who is one of those types that likes to throw their money around, so shes getting her car and my car tinted and paying for BOTH...heck yes

but anyway i cant decide how dark i want to go...my uncle has an 01 Silverado and his back windows are 18% from factory according to whats written on them, and i can see out of them fairly well.

so i was just thinking about getting 20% all around.

the legal limit for front windows is 35%, there is no restriction on rears..but i dont really care for mismatched tint, so id rather have it all one level.

the question i have is is it hard to see out of windows that are realy dark? like for driving and whatnot?

i dont want to go with 35%, ive seen some pics and its just not that dark, but i dont want to go 0 either..im thinking somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-25.

They should have a meter that measures the amount of light that passes through the window. The meter is hand held.

The test is a shine light through and measure how much gets through. That'* the % of light allowed through, which = the amount of tint?

Alright, 15-25% tint is usually what you see from the factory on the sides of trucks and SUVs. 15-10% on your backs and sides it pretty dark. Its enough to be black and ha5rd to see through at day and night for people on the outside, but not enough if you decide to back up your car or see whats going on behind you. Less than 10%, you are getting into LImo shade tint. That is very dark, and is hard to see out of at night in the rears if your trying to back up w/o any ambient light[street lamps, floods...etc] present.

The precentage on the tint is the allowed light coming through into the vehicle, house, or boat.

5% tint all the way around. but it will cost you. tickets are around $75 here in Iowa I just found out. he said the legal limit is 72%. I bought the car like this and it did not matter. how ridiculous.

-off-subject-
two cowardly sheriffs leave as i go in to prepay for gas, at about 11 at night mind you, go park across the street and wait for me to pump my gas and leave, then both of them pull me over to issue a tint ticket. this is why they are called PIGS, oink oink do away with the PORK!

not bashing the police just the cowardly sheriffs who were eating not even where they patrol and left the place while i'm getting gas to go park across the street and pull me over to give me a tint ticket? ridiculous. it was night time at that and i gave them a friendly wave on the way in, how childish. I purchased the car this way, and since it would be illegal for me to sell it with the tint on, it should have been illegal for the seller to sell it to me with the tint on, it has nothing to do with me but ends up costing me.

I know many cops and they're good people. I have uncles and relation that are cops. I wasn't bashing cops just pigs.
