Default making a move on LED tails

having some issues.

right now, as for tails, i think im going with these

21 side lights and 6 in the front.
this would take care of the 4 tail/brake lights.

i also wanna do the brake lights and turn signals in the rear too though... so im looking on http://autolumination.com/3157_3156.htm and i cant seem to figure it out...

so im asking... do i want them with side bulbs as well? or just front bulbs? and would those SMT tower ones (the ones above) actually even FIT in the reverse / signal housings? let me know thanks.

Do you have cleared corners?
I do and tried led'*, way too bright imo.
People would run and hide when I turned on the signal lights with the pulsing amber beacons
Mine were APC brand btw.

I finally got all the lights in the tail of my '04 GXP replaced with LED bulbs, aside from the turn signals. Currently those are Silverstar Signals.

I went with:

http://frickinbrite.com/catalog/prod...roducts_id=308 for the tail lights

http://frickinbrite.com/catalog/prod...roducts_id=307 for the backup lights

I'll use these http://frickinbrite.com/catalog/prod...roducts_id=306 for the turn signal if the flasher can be changed.

and http://frickinbrite.com/catalog/prod...products_id=29 for the side markers. I used the same ones in white for the license plate.

All I need to do now is figure out how to get the turn signals to work without flashing fast. Haven't even looked for a replacement electronic flasher that will work, and I'm not even sure it exists given the way these models' existing flashers work. I know there was a post about it, but looking back I can't find it.

Will see what I can find, however. If any of the wiring gurus out there have any thoughts on how to keep the flashers working but bypass the original module I'd be interested to hear.

Overall, they turned out well. Fast response and not overkill for brightness. I tried the ones listed above and the 6 lights at the end were too much. Way too much. The new ones are angled on the side more to provide light from the reflectors, then use three lights on the end to fill in the rest.

Will try to get pictures up as soon as I get home.

Can those LED lights plug right into the factory plugs? Also is there any cons on the led change? Heat? or anything like that?

Also Napenthe what do you mean by side markers? Which one is that exactly? also do the turn signal bulbs flash the amber color but look clear when not on? Looks like it in pic but not fully sure, pics always don't show exactly what you get ya know.

I am looking to get some brighter reverse lights, with 15% tint it gets pretty hard to see at times. Are these LED'* a lot brighter than stock?

Yes, those plug directly into the factory connectors, but they have a resistor that only let'* them work correctly one way. If they don't work, just unplug and turn 180 degrees then reinsert.

I haven't noticed any heat greater than a normal bulb. No cons that I can see. Pros are a deeper red color and faster response, and it'* a visible difference when you step on the brake.

The side markers are the little bulbs on the side. If you remove the housing, there are two connectors for the stop/tail, close to the body; two for the backup (inside) and turn signal (outside), close to you; and (depending on which side) the side markers are the little ones on the end.

Those are 194 bulbs, the stop/tail are 3157 and the backup are 3156, although the HPR 3157/3156 bulbs work in both connectors. If the amber are anything like the red, then yes, they are clear when off. The white LED'* are very bright.

I didn't get a chance last night to take pics. I'll try to do it tonight.

I must be having the biggest brain fart ever..For some reason I still don't get it.. Your explaning it perfectly I'm just out of mind right now.

So I'll just post this pic. What number is it? I know its one of the bottom ones due to the other ones are reverse and blinker.

Sorry!

also have you fixed the blinking fast problem?
