Wow, a lot of work there. That'* the problem with cast aluminum. Going to take a long time to get them all smooth, but should be well worth the effort. When done I would suggest not driving them in winter though.

oh no, this car never sees bad weather. Not a trailer queen, I just drive it on the weekends.
Ive been trying to research better ways of smoothing the pitting, I know it can be done. I have a mini D/A sander that uses 2" discs but I'm waiting for lower grit discs to be shipped. That should help the process and my motivation, lol.

Not to intending over state the obvious...but you are wearing a good breathing protection with all that alumimum sanding your doing? You don't want that stuff in your lungs.
Otherwise...great work...I can imagine how much time this is taking. Kudos to you for taking it on.

Yep, got a mask on. I guess I should have made a point about PPE.
Trust me the urge to say forget about it and paint them is on my mind alot, and it might happen yet. Just depends on how things blend.

been a while since my last update, just been real busy.
been working on the pitting inside the spokes and where the transition to where they meet the face of the wheel. Pics soon. Dremel with a 80 grit flapper has been helping alot.
Don't worry, I'm not giving up on this project.
