As of right now I only purchased the Projectors, but the HIDs arent gonna happen for a lil bit till Im able to afford it! But the projectors that I bought fit my stock 9006 bulbs cuz they're off of a Mercury Cougar!

Install Pix This Weekend!

The first 2 pix show you the projectors and how PERFECTLY they fit my angel eyes

cool! nice project!
however, i dont understand why you would waste your time mounting in a lower quality, halogen projector if HIDs are in future plans

but a halogen projector is designed differently than an HID projector due to the different light and arc pattern of the filament, as well as the color output

There'* a slight chance you'll have decent output, but if you're going through the effort, it really would have been worth it to use true HID projectors in my opinion. I'm curious to see how this comes out for you though.
CC is gonna be all over this one

I guess when the time comes you could swap out HID projectors as you put in the HID system...not the way I'd go though.

especially when you can get really good HID projectors for 60-80 bucks each... its not a huge investment for the projectors themselves

If you haven't done so already, I'd highly suggest visiting the forum/university at www.hidplanet.com

I'm really not trying to knock down your efforts, but I'd hate to see you put in the effort and wind up unhappy with the results.

I'm going to have to agree with Toasty and Dillcc. I have projectors on my car, but while they're better than regular halogen housings, I know they're not as good as HID projectors. The cut-off isn't crisp enough to be used in HID light setups. The cut off and pattern is going to be off due to the completely different properties between Xenon, and Halogen lighting.

I see a few problems with this.

1, you are using a halogen projectors with plans to eventually go to a HID setup. If you are staying with halogen that'* fine.
2 you picked one of the markets worst halogen projectors to start with. And believe me when I say this. I have a set sitting on my work bench.
3 the output of those blue bulbs is going to suck and be lower output than a clear one.
4 You CAN do the process you are talking about. IF you chose a projecter that accepts HID kit bulbs well. The Valeo H7 projectors is one set that does very nice with both halogen and HID.

I see no reason to continue with the bosch projectors. IMO you will have worse output than your current reflectors.
