Default door trim fix

I dont know if anyone else has this problem but the black trim on the outside of doors at top where the window starts ( all four doors) is fading and peeling looks disgusting.
Ive tried to find used but they would rather sell the door and dealer wants 100 for rear and $135 fonts.I would like to try and strip and paint , does anyone know what the paint or whatever the finish is on these are.thanks

This may seem weird but try rubbing a small amount of peanut butter with your finger tip into the trim then clean off with a soft dry cloth.

Hey PB works well getting rid of the white build up on black plastic auto parts like the black plastic shroud at the bottom of the windsheild on the 2K plus Bonneville'*. :P

Tom shared this secret detailing item with me while he was making my car look new.

(eh Tom..she hasn't realized that smell on her car yet..think you should tell her what THAT was?)

Tom shared with you but not with me??? ....
I have some of that white buildup on my black...so I was seriously interested in the answer. I have both creamy and crunchy! Lol....

That was a side benefit of working on my car with Tom..whereas you were sneaking around buying tools for the host.
