Well, the quick answer is....you can't "get one".

But you can modify your own center tail, like shown in the link here:

How to Light Up the Center Tail '96-99

Or get another from a parts yard and modify that. Then once you have it working the way you want, replace your stock one with the lighted one.

Just to add onto the procedure outlined in that thread..

While dremelling...hold the shopvac nearby to gather all material as it is removed.

Some nice items, but like you said, that'* a brake light overlay, not the light up rear tail light.

OK. After reading through the complete thred on this project (thanks, Lash) I'm very interested in doing this. I went and bought a tail lamp from the bone yard today, and I'm gonna start it after the new year. One (of probably many) question: After cutting apart the lens and exposing the backside of the "PONTIAC" word, couldn't I just sand off the black coating instead of using a dremmel?

sanding will take 18 lightyears to do....

be VERY CAREFUL that you dont go too deep with the dremil because you will see the marks from the outside when its done

Is that because the black coating is thick? (I haven't disassembled the lamp yet to see for myself) What if I used a small sanding disk on my die-grinder?
