Default Beginning my neon install

Hopefully can be done within the next two to four weeks.. I need to get someone (Brother/stepdad) to help me wire them.. I have the switches mounted in the piece that goes onto the main dashboard..

This is just a rough fitting, though.. I still have to remove the switches from the metal piece, file the holes out since they're still rough and the switches aren't sitting fully flush on the metal, and probably get the sheetmetal powdercoated or i'll just paint it.. My brother'* buddy is in the powdercoat business.. i'm sure he could do it for next to nothing since it'* just a piece of sheetmetal.

I'll keep this topic freshly posted as I go along

Side question:

Is there a color of like touchup/spray paint that matches this factory dash color if I do go the paint route? I don't like how the silver looks against the black.

Yes. SEM brand paint. Graphite #15303. Can be used with SEM brand texture coating (don't have number, there'* only one, Bill posted it in his heated seat thread, look there). Stuffs a little pricy, but look at the SEM website to find a local seller.

If you have any questions on the wiring just post here. There are tons of knowledgeable people with neons, cathodes, LEDs, whatever your choice may be.

There just so happens to be one about 15 minutes away from here that supposedly sells the stuff.. hmm.

Wouldn't any old flat black work, too?

I know a good bit too, just never bothered to buy a kit...because if I did I would have to get one to own pat. And I am too lazy for that.

Here'* that info excerp from the heated thread...this assumes you are working on plastic.. skip the adhesion promoter

Each can is $12-$15USD, depending where you go. You will finish the molding and sanding, clean well to remove any oils from your hands then spray with Plastic Adhesion Promoter, let dry, Texture Coating, let dry well, and Graphite. Here is a pic of the magic cans.
