The SilverStar H3'* I installed look virtually the same (colour wise) as the SilverStar low beams I've got.

Yea cause I'm going be buying Silverstar 9005 for the low and highs but in the Ultra and also considering Angel Eye fog lights with h3 bulbs in them.

We have started to put SilverStars in all our ambulances. Crews have reported much better night visibility. We tried the Ultras but didn't notice a terribly significant difference. They are more expensive and we see a realization in any increased life the packaging refers to (which is what I really wanted). Any of the SilverStars (from our experience) have a very short lifespan. I don't really care as much about this though because the safety of our crews is much more important than the increased frequency of replacement and additional cost. I am still looking into other alternatives though. It'* interesting because the Ultras were around for a short time, but now I can't seem to find many places around here that even stock them anymore.

I ran them in my '02 SE and I have them in my '04 GXP (lows and fogs only - the highs are an HIR-1 which from what I've found is a dealer only bulb) but quite like them. I don't know the Ultras are worth the extra cost (from my experience). They definitely look whiter than standard halogens, but I'd have to say there is some blue to them as well (if that makes any sense). The bulb itself does have a bluish appearance. I'd recommend them but like I mentioned, you can expect to replace them fairly frequently.

I log all the maintenance I do, including bulb replacement. I've had my GXP for 14.5 months and am on my third set. I've only put about 25,000 km on the car in that time.

They have been pretty consistent though. When one burns out the other isn't far behind. A friend of mine with a VW has made similar comments.

I considered this as being an anomoly with my particular car (much like the rear side marker light in most 2K+ Bonnevilles), but I've had this now in both of mine.
