Default clearing corners... uh oh?

how bad is it if the ball joint that holds the head light in snapped off?

also i have the loose headlight all thats left is the grey wire loom thing holding it in, should i just bend the side tabs back to pull it out?

one more thing, when i take the other headlight out what are some techniques to use to not break the ball joint...

thanks in advance

The best way to remove them without breaking the ball is to pull straight towards the front of the car.

My brother in law tried to remove his headlight to change the side marker bulbs and ended up breaking part of the black casing which holds the ball. We just used high strength epoxy to reattach the broken part. It has been over two months since then and it is holding strong.

After I removed my headlights I broke the tabs off the sleeve that holds the ball joint in place. I don't think there is any need for that stupid ball joint except to kill yourself every time you change a head light. The whole light fixture is held in with one short bolt and one long bolt anyhow.

The connector should have a tab that allows the connector to come apart easily when you lift the tab slightly.
