Question hids

hey i have a 2000 bonneville with hid'*. theyre 8000k and they look pretty nice. they were realtively easy to put in and i was thinking about putting some in for my fog lights. how do u get to the fog lights from under the hood and can u put hids where the fog lamps are? thanks

those are going to blind the ***t out of people in the fogs, headlights is one thing but you definately need projectors or housings designed for HIDs for fogs

if the reflector was designed like the headlight that would work, with the fogs just being like a parabolic mirror its basically like a big spotlight, it doesn't really have a focused area the light is spread everywhere which makes them ideal for fog

that would explain why no matter how many times i adjust my fogs i still see them all over the place

you can also get to them by removing the headlight and you will see where they are mounted, 2 10mm nuts hold them in, still the best thing to do would be to get a projector housing, there is one made for an 04-06 Jeep Grand Cheerokee that is basically the same size and fits with little modification, and they have angel eyes too

I've done it, about 3 hours from the time I took the stock housings off til I finished hooking the balasts up
