So I have a 94 silver bonneville ssei. Its been kept in perfect condition by the owner, almost no scratches. But I wasnt thinking and I cleaned all the ice off my car with an ice scraper, even the paint. So now I have a bunch of surface scratches and its annoying the crap out of me.
Is there anything I can use to buff the scratches out or repair them in 20 degree weather? Besides getting a new paint of coat. And yes, I feel like an idiot.

you can try meguiars scratch X. I wouldn't really reccomend it at this time of year because there is no good way to wash your car and clean the paint. (unless you have access to a garage).

some polishing compunds will help too.

Do you have a power buffer or will you be doing it by hand?

Also do you have access to a garage and a touchless car wash in your area?

i've done the same thing back in the day, but worse, I used a spare license plate to scrape the windshield....it scratched the hell out of it, I then tried to "rake the snow off" with a license plate and scratched the paint down to metal in a few places, but it was all frozen so I did not know until it melted.

By hand, no garage and I think there is a touchless car wash somewhere around here but Id rather do it by hand if I could. Mind you its also like 20 degrees out here.

I agree with Rob wait till spring and use scratch X. Do not be afraid to use some pressure when working the Scratch X trying to remove the scratches. It may take 3 or 4 applications to remove all traces of the scratch.

I used meguiars scratch X on all of the scratches just the other day. After two applications the second one with some very high pressure rubbing all of the scracthes. And well.... it worked wonders! Thanks a bunch for the advice!

Scratch X is great. I bet you were surprised at the amount of pressure it took to apply the scratch X and make it work.

Wow, I'm amazed at this. It'* a good thing there are great space-age compounds out there to remove scratches and what not. Too bad the paint couldn't become more fool proof.

By the way, I hate even using my snow brush on my paint let alone something else. I think the bristles are too stiff. They need to have the flayed soft ends or someone needs to get on the ball and create a microfiber brushless snow remover or something like that.

The best tool to use for snow removal is a garage. LOL

Seriously, I know some guys that do not have a garage and cover the car with a tarp if it is going to snow, this works pretty well.

I do not think paint will ever change so it would be impossible to scratch. I know some guys, with show cars, claim that just driving the car will create swirl marks in the paint finish.
