Default Fender Inserts

Some time ago I purchased a pair of fender inserts for my Intrigue. They are basically just about a 12 by 12 piece of fiberglass with slits in it (Like Z3 style). My reg body shop guy said hes nervous because of the fact that he would have to cut into the factory fender, mold the inserts on, blend it and paint it so it looks stock and flush. He is confident he can do so, but he says the problem is the flex of the metal fender will eventually cause the area around the inserts to crack :( I have seen people with the same setup before and it looks great/lasts long. But I havent had luck finding a shop thats willing to do it. If anyone has any tips whatsoever please let me know. Thanks guys.
