Default some headlight questions

ok, so im sorry to start yet another thread but i couldn't find what i was looking for lol. i was wondering does anyone know of any aftermarket tail/headlights for a 99 park ave? i like the smoked tails but im a fan of the idea of returning it to stock when i decide to sell down the road. being a teenager i cant really afford the repairs involved with running it till something major breaks haha.

im just bored of the stock look of the taillights. if aftermarkets arent available, id also be interested in buying some taillights off of an o5 pa

another question i have is, ive seen the threads on retrofitting projectors, but is there anywhere i can buy them for my car pre made? and if not is there an reversible way to do it.

and the last question. is there anyplace i can buy replacement lights for my car that dont cost an arm and a leg haha. one single headlight the cheapest price online i can find is $150, and about $125 used on ebay. i dont really wanna touch junkyards because park ave headlights go completely fogged at around 100k, and its not fun to polish them back to like new. i ask this, because again if i mod the car its more likely to get more money looking stock. plus when cutting headlights a spare set is always nice.

thanks alot for any help!

p.*. its definitely not thread worthy, but seeing as its the detailing section i use 2 reusable cloth diapers to dry my entire car after washing it haha.

You're going to run into the same problem us Bonneville owners do: there'* really not an aftermarket selection of parts. Manufacturers don't want to spend time designing parts for a vehicle that has a select few looking to mod. When comparing vehicles such as the Cobalt and Grand Prix against ours, manufacturers are going to produce items for those cars because the average age of owners is lower and the market appeal for such items is larger.

eBay is going to be your cheapest solution for a set of headlights if you do not want to get junkyard ones

I know there is a website that will build you a projector retrofit housing. I just can't find it right now.

being a fellow park avenue owner ive been through all of what youre going through, a few times. there are no aftermarket head lights or tail lights for the park avenue. if you dont want to nite shade the tail lights, the 05 park avenue tail lights will be your only option. there are no projectors that come made for the park avenue headlight so anything done would be custom, im going to retro fit some projectors this winter when i have some extra cash. i have not been able to find cheap headlights for the park ave, no matter where you go they will be at least $120 a side.
let me know any other questions you have, these park avenues are fun when it comes to modding. by the time youre done youll have a frankenstein with all of the parts from other cars, but thats how it has to be done with no aftermarket for us.

yeah. as far as tinting i think ive found a solution. im not sure how well it will work with all the ice here but i was searching around for a good 2 hrs or so and i found a post on a ford ranger forum where a guy used the cling type of cheap advance auto window tint. it actuall looked pretty good on there, and using a hairdryer he got it to go around all the compound curves none of which my car has lol.my only concern is around the edges where the trunk opens and such, whether or not hands grabbing there will peel it off. but i thing for 10.99 its a decent gamble to take. maybe $22 if there isnt enough in the roll. ive got a spare center light off of my moms century im going to try it on first just to see how it looks. ill post results after i buy the stuff. depending on how well it works i may put some 30-35% or so on my windshield. mainly just for heat.

i found this video on youtube, it looks pretty nice on this guys windshield.

Window tint is the best. I wouldn't go darker than 50% on the entire windshield though.

so i bought this really cheap tint from advance today... http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web..._A|GRP2067____

its 2 feet by 6 1/2 feet. i used some of it on my dvr box (comcast boxes are super bright) and it looks ok on the box. my only concern is it had just a slight tinge of purble when i put it infront of my lamp, so im not sure how it will look on my taillights. ill see tomorrow i guess. worst case ill just leave them cause vht supposedly comes off with paint thinner but i cant get a rag in alot of the indentations. do if i ever take it off it will look like i went over my taillight with a sharpie lol

i used it on my taillights today, and they came out great. the only thing i dont like is if you look super close it has the little tiny dimples you get with any cling on stickers. despite the fact i cleaned my lights with stoners spray foam stuff 3 times. if you do this, make sure you take off the chrome trim. you dont have to cut it perfect and you get the cleaner look that way. my only concern is the cops. i took these pictures at dusk. do you think ill have any issues with cops? i mean if i do i can just rip it off but i like to avoid the embarrassment lol.

that looks sick, i cant say anything about the cop factor but i live in an area where cops are huge dicks about tint and ive only got stopped once for my tails, and that was because they couldnt nail me for the window tint anymore because i took it off.

another thing that will make your dark tail really pop is painting the gray license plate surrounding black, i did that to mine and i like it a lot. the last time i did my tails i painted the chrome surrounding black too.
