As well as a 35W 4500K set of Raptor HID'*. Hopefully I have time to get started on it this weekend.

Doing the same thing to mine since its so cheap. Can't decide of I wanna buy those projector housings or just buy some HID bulbs. Seen a bunch of Silverados running around with HID bulbs in stock headlight/fog housings and weren't bad about blinding.

Are you going with DDM tuning as well? They have a life time warranty now. I was debating between the 35W and 55W, I got a set of 55W running lights for the Bonneville and ended up giving them to a friend, he'* ran them for over a year now with no problem. Seems like there is concern over the 55W melting the factory housings or even projector housings and also some say they are too bright and blind people unless you get the projector housings which is why I figured 35W.

this might be worth looking at. its an spl guy im subbed to on youtube after seeing the car in person. i really like the way those projector retrofits look. thats about as clean as it gets imo

I was just looking to do the fogs for now, I don't know what kind of projector lens I would have to find to try and shove in the factory fog light. It would have to be small.

I'm going to see how the HID'* look by themselves in the factory fog light housings and depending on how that comes out possibly get the projector housings I linked.

I really don't wanna pay for retro-fitting stuff again. Really expensive since I don't have the time, tools, or skills.

They make projector housings for the my Silverado that are made for the H4 bulb, but I don't know how well those are with HIDs. They look good on YouTube, and should be better than a reflector housing.

I am just gonna put HIDs in the stock fogs though. Haven't decided on color yet though. Nothing higher than 5000k like the headlights will be, but thinking maybe 3000k to actually cut through fog since it sits so high.

I don't like the yellow look which is why I was looking at 4500, which at 35 watts should be just barely above yellow. It'* still going to be much better than factory fogs.

Also found my next mod, K&N CAI setup. They have dyno runs showing over 9HP increases, and while they don't claim fuel mileage increases, I think it'* safe to assume it isn't going to hurt. Even if it gives less than 1MPG, it should still pay for itself within the year.

some of the cai'* take the air too high for the computer to adjust, so it may be 9hp if you have the ability to add more fuel via a tune

I don't like the look either, but at this point it'* about function. We were driving Monday night through some pretty thick fog, and even at just higher than stock the factory fog lights weren't doing anything. Its just gonna get worse once I start to lift it, and brighter lights would compound to the problem.

I don't have that problem with the Bonnie because it sits so low.

Now I don't know if I wanna buy a CAI or not for the truck. None of them actually take in air from outside the engine bay, so I don't see how they can offer that much more power.

I ended up not going with DDM, but rather Kensun HID Xenon Conversion KIT Digital Slim Ballast 880 4300k (Ultra White). They seemed to have better reviews when compared to DDM as far as their reliability to fire up on the first start and other minor issues.

If you think about how big a trucks engine bay is, I wouldn't think they necessarily need to pull air from outside of it. The one I'm getting has the block off baffle or whatever you call it that will give it it'* own air space as well which should keep the temperatures down. We had one in our 04' Dodge Ram without the baffle, just a warm air intake and it make a pretty noticeable difference paired with the exhaust work we did. That'* not to say that if you somehow managed to tweak it to pull in cold air it wouldn't make a bigger difference...

While I didn't see the Vortec 5300 specifically listed on HP Tuners website, I have a feeling I could probably use it since they have the rest of the Vortec lineup. Although on the other hand, I'm inclined to think it won't be neccesary. The bonnie could adjust itself to take advantage of a .2" drop in supercharger pulley size which I'm sure netted more than 10HP. that is a larger percentage of increase when compared to factory HP of the car than the increase they are claiming the truck will see. I wasn't really planning on tuning the truck since from my understanding from the factory it'* tuned more to the lean side and for fuel mileage, which is the side I would favor anyway. That and I can't think of anything else I would want to change right now... I'm open to suggestions though
