Default HID Opinions

Theres a group buy over on clubgp for an HID conversion kit for $116. I have been thinking about getting a kit because I usually go through a set of Silverstars a year, I use my lights an average of two hours in the morning, four days aweek. Economically the HID kit would be better, and the GP guys aren't having reflection issues with blinding people. I would get the 4300K kit so it would be pure white, with no blue color. Whats everyone opinion on HID kits?

most people are going to say dont do it, every hid has flicker issues

uhm, if its an actual authenitc 4300k kit it WILL be blue. it would have a hint of blue and purple in there.

its ur decision, personal preference. i was gonna get projectors and stuff and have them installed in virginia but i need to be able to tkae a trip down there and make sure theyd fit before sending them the headlamps.

its what you wanna do

Wrong!

Wrong!

Yes!

If you buy a good brand you will Not have flicker issues, Only if there Bad.

4300K is Not Blue, it is Almost pure White, Anything higher then 4300K will be blue and anything lower will be more yellow

And yes, it is Not recommended to put HID'* in stock housings, Projectors will Look Allot better and will not be blinding to other drivers.

For more great info and help check out http://hidplanet.com/main.html

this is a ok chart, but you'll get the point

I have 6000k and they are really blue looking, but seem whiteish from the driver seat.

It improved night driving alot, but I can see how it would be alot better with projectors.

I havent had anyone flash me that I can think of, I get flashed if I have my fog lights on because I need them re-aimed.

Well if someone was blinding me, I would flash them.

I've also drove past my own car too, if they were too bright, I would have took them out. That was the first thing I did when I installed them. They are bright for sure, but I know that some factory set ups with projectors are brighter and "blind" you more.

Agian If you have the time, money and extra headlights, I would put projectors in and fill in alot of the empty space as they are meant to do.

HID kits are trash.

You would be better off giving me the 116 dollars.

Yes for the most part they are, the only "kits" to trust are ones from good places like www.HIDplanet.com

So when BonnevilleClub start to Helpa dn Give GOOD Advice, you tell people to not to and go beleave others that may be doing the wrong thing or may not be doing the best thing :?

wow just wow

If you dont beleave what Corvette and I are sating just go look at www.HIDplanet.com what has the best info and the very good products.

Read thing not just look at things
You will start to see why the cheepo "kits" are bad and why you do NOT want to put HID'* into just any Head light.
