Tinting
Ok so i want to tint my windows but i dont want to pay $200 to have it done, and they wont tint the fronts. So, I was thinking about trying it my self. One of my friends was saying the easiest way to to do it is to take the window out of the car. Is that hard to do? I was just going to leave it in the car and roll it down a little to get the top then when im about half way put it up and tint to the bottom. Has anyone here tinted there windows themselvs? Also if anyone knows of any good tutorials on window tinting that would help too. I have tinted the back window in one of my buds trucks before but that is the extent of my window tinting adventures. Any help would be appreciated.

Tinting is one of those things you really want to have done professionally, by a shop with a good reputation. It is extremely tricky to do it right. You may have to put in some time on local racing forums looking for a good shop.

removing the window makes it WAY easier... i have done it both ways.. and its worth all the time to take them out
but for the $200, its worth to have it done professionally... especially if you have never done it....

Take everyones advice, theres a REASON getting windows tinted isn't cheap. My opinion is if you've never tinted before don't even try doing it with your windows in. However, the amount of time you'd spend taking them out tinting them, letting them dry and putting them back in you coulda paid to get it done 3 times. I've got a video-cd that outlines how to cut and tint your car while if anyone'* interested and I can find a host.

Tinting is not very hard, just takes a steady hand when cutting, so you don't end up with a retarted wavy line on the edge of the film.
I did a car once, the door windows and the little triangle ones didn't look too bad. I hung around a tint shop for years so I had an idea of what I was suppposed to do. The back window, however, looked like complete @ss....bubbles, creases..didn't reach the edges.
I will never try that again.
