I can't say it'* the best wax I've ever seen, and I may go back to Meguiars, but it did a decent job. I just finished detailing my uncle'* 2002 Dodge Durango w/ 66k mi. I did it last year with Meguiars Gold Class, but it doesn't seem to be as stunning this time. Maybe it'* just the extra year of road buildup, so on and so forth.

I started off by washing it THOROUGHLY. He goes to the no-touch car wash weekly, and all that wax and soap build up was definitely in there. Engine compartment was FILTHY... was screaming for a good power washing and accent coating. I must have gone over it about four times before I felt the junk was nearly off. Once it felt cleaner, I took the turtle wax liquid claybar and went a scrubbin'. To me... it didn't do all that much unless you really focused on a particular area, applied tons of pressure and rinsed it and repeated. It did remove a few nice scratches, however.

I wanted to see what this stuff would do without the Meguiars ScratchX. I bought the Ice Paste and Claybar. I applied the Paste when evening started hitting, and had the aid of my really bright $20.00 walmart work light. Not sure on a wattage, I know the beast draws 4.8 amps though lol. After applying the paste, I let it dry for a few minutes, then buffed it. I really couldn't get it to the point where I didn't see a residue that was left behind. After working on the driver'* door for twenty minutes, I said screw it... time to move on. I did notice, however, if I applied more water to the pad than I do with any other paste, a lot less residue was left over, probably less of a coat of wax too though.

I ignored the residue, thinking that maybe it was because I was using the work light. Took me about three hours to thoroughly wax the thing, with no use of a buffer. I have just have a rotary buffer with no orbit. I really didn't want to put any more swirls/residue than I had to... so I used my good old fashioned hands and arms.

I gave my uncle the keys and said I'd work on the interior later on in the week, but the exterior was finished.

He stopped in later in the week and said there was a crap load of wax residue all over the truck, and you could really see it in the sunlight. I was like hmm... well maybe I'll take the advice of the bottle and buy a bottle of the spray on wax to take the residue off and finish up the wax.

After spraying it, it looked much better... but just not what I expected. I sprayed the engine compartment with Meguiar'* Accent Coating, put some Armor All tire gel on all the tires (after washing with the tire foam), and hit all the door handles, mirrors, and anything else plastic with the accent coating.

The guy is a smoker, so the inside was pretty filthy as well. Vacuumed, took out the rug mats and just scrubbed them with some Ajax dish soap and a heavy duty scrub brush. Put a really fine mist of accent coating on them as well (didn't want it to get on the pedals from his shoes... that'd be bad.). Sprayed the leather seats and dashboard with some Systems 1 VLP (Vinyl, Leather, and Plastic) protector. This does well at getting stains that are set in there... out. Followed behind it on the dash and trim with some ultra shine armor all and a rag. Used Meguiars Glass Cleaner on all the windows (you should see the brown crap that came off from the cigarette smoke). It only took about an hour and a half - two hours to do the whole interior. That'* with a small dinner inbetween. Not as long as I had expected.

Any input is welcome... even if you're saying I did something utterly wrong lol.

Looks good. But if you are having that much trouble removing the wax, you are putting on way too much. Less is better with wax. Do a second coat if you want to be sure you got it good, but if you need to rub hard and take several hours to wax it'* way too much. Not to mention if you are rubbing that hard, you are going to be introducing lots of swirls to the paint.

And if it is really that hard, you could spritz quick detailer or water over the dried wax to aid in its removal.
