your car would be hard to make it look like a "street racer" since it was never intended to be one. but it has many other great things about it

nu uh! all of those things should add between 50-75hp...right?

You have a ton of money? Buy a Corvette. It'* fast and sporty. Out of your range? Buy an Eclipse or a Mustang.

Bonnevilles should be treated as treasure and in return they will love you.

If you want sporty seats... www.katzkin.com (www.autoleathers.com)
This is coming from an (apparent) Bonneville nut. When most people see a bonneville they say "phhh grandpa car"... I know I have for the longest time.. although I do really like the styling of the 2000'*+. But they're still considered granny cars.

So an Eclipse isnt queer? Yup crankwalk and blown trannys are the **** nowadays...

Not all. Most civics (cx dx lx hx std vx shall I go on?) weren't made to be remotely fast; this is quite true. EX'* and Si'* were meant to be "sportier". A civic Si hatch (92-95) is probably inbetween the quickness of an L36 and an L67, moreso on the L67 side. Some Civic DX with a fart can tried getting in front of me from a stop light... I mashed it to 50, stayed at 50 and about 10 seconds later there he goes LOL... they certainly arent CRAP cars, but lots of kids like to throw an intake can and flames on the side and call them fast

2000+ Civic Si'* are a bit faster than L67 equipped vehicles. You upgrade the tiniest thing on the supercharged engine though and that civic will be toast

If your 16, just slap some tint on there and enjoy how much room there is to do whatever you want.

Hmmm... not trying to flame you. I was 16 once and can remember it well. I would suggest thinking about this a little longer.

First: Kudo'* to your folks for giving you a halfway decent ride. It'* good, solid transportation, or can be made into such with minimal effort.

Two: Get a service manual and start reading it. Having the urge to mod the heck out of the car and personalizing it are pretty common traits on this list. But knowing a bit about what you have to start with is a big step towards making changes that work vs. hanging a lot of junk on the car and being dissapointed with the results.

Three: Use the car to get to work, school, hauling your friends when their civics and neons are busted and propped up on jackstands. Save your money and use it for the next suggested item:

Four: Sign up for a track school. SCCA, KART, etc. Once you get behind the wheel of a real race car on a real race track you'll come to understand why the smart folks look on the riced out cars with disgust. It'* not envy, it'* the understanding that most of the ricers are idiots with BS cars that handle horribly and are 1 nano-second away from trashing the motor. (I say "most"..there are a few of these "tuners" that know their stuff and can do wonders with those little four-bangers.) Learn to drive with precision, and pretty soon you'll be able to dust anyone you choose. You'll also have a clean driving record and low insurance rates like some of us old farts.

O.K., sorry about the Civic slap. The ones I hate are the ones that the people do all the crap to and then pull beside my GXP and go "wanna race". And when they do that in a Neon I break out in uncontrollable laughter.

I would have to say, in all honesty, I could see 16-17 years old going much more for a Civic than a Bonneville. Not that I agree with it, but I could see the guys saying "hey, how'* dad'* car doing today, chuckle, chuckle". Again not that I would agree with that, but I could very easily see it happening. HOWEVER, as they wind up the engine and lock it up, you'll still be moving, and faster than they. OR when they crash into the lamp post and lose body parts, you'll walk away.

But if you did the mods to a Bonneville that you would to a Civic it would look horrible.

thanks guys
its not that i want a car that looks like something out of the fast and the furious i love the car i got i just dont want wut u said above to happen when they say hows ur dads car
i love it now and its in awsome shape and rides like a charm
and its a fast car i alreays know that
but i was wondering one thing if there is body kits that fit it cause that alone i think would give it a bit of a unique look and not wreck it.
I dont really want a civic because of how popular they are now a days and most of the people dont have anything performance wise only makeing it look better and thats not what im going for im simply looking to make this my own car thats looks how i want it too
