yeah, thats why i was thinking of ding it with plastic or something...

but i might still try glass
But how does one mold plastic? Short of like fancy industrial injection molding or somethign.
not going to mold it, going to cut it and screw it to gether...

its a pain in the *** but thats why i might try doing the glass

glassing a console would be easier that a pillar pod, IMO, becuase the pillar pod has a lot of curves and things like that. I would build a wood frame to mount all your stuff on, then glass over it.

Ah ok. I'm not sure that would yield a clean look, or maybe if you used plastic body filler or the like to "smooth in" the plastic it would look slick.

I don't really know much about such things, just thowing ideas out there.

I'd say build the frame out of something, and upholster it like a subwoofer box. To match your interior. Or use the texture paint and interior color paint over fiberglas like Bill did when he did his custom heater switches.

Hey, sorry for the late post but I just started making my own custom center console today. I'm making it out of MDF and having it upholstered in cloth. It'* not going to be super super cool but it'll be cool and very practical. I think I should have it done by next week. I'll post pics here when I finish it and when it'* upholstered.
