cup holder
I know this may sound trivial but I hate the cup holder configuration in my 92 sse. I spend at least an hour in the car each day. The cup holders in the door are not big enough to hold a drink of any real size. So I took out the panel behind the shifter and cut a hole in the center. I picked up a cup holder at a local truck and van shop and installed it in the hole. I had to use a heat gun to shape the holder to the angled panel. I then covered the panel with a material that matches my dash and reinstalled the panel in the console. It will now hold one of those 44 ounce monsters and anything smaller since the bottom is stepped.

I've experienced all the car cup holders.... and I'll say..I'm waiting for that picture too!
The 87-91 are neat..but under the arm rest... Randy loves them.
92-95 the doors are good IMO because if you have a normal sized drink it holds the cup. Console is the console .. works good
96-99 Doors will take a larger cup..but they are too shallow and everything tilts backward (esp 20 oz bottles) and the door is in the way for any height. Console is console..lol
00+ These guys got screwed hard on their holders. Two in the center of the console..too close together to put two drinks into. That'* all they got...

I love the cupholders in the 92-95 gen, they hold bottles of soda or water perfectly. They also hold cans but you have to be careful not to rock the soda out. The 96-99 gen is alot worse than the 92-95 IMHO. Also when they changed the console design for the 02 or 03 year the new cupholders are better too. Just my own opionion though

The door cup holders are teasers! They're nice until you leave a can of pop or coffee mug in the holder, get out of the car, then slam the door. Getting back in the car is always a nice surprise.
I watched my wife do this exact thing this past weekend when she got out of the passenger side. All I could do was curse to myself.... Now there'* coffee all over the passenger seat and door panel.
Please post this pics. We could all benefit from your idea!

I'm with Vital on this one.. I keep a sealed bottle of water in the door cupholders and nothing else. At least if I spill water I'm just giving the carpet a bath :P
I only use the center cupholder now when I need one.
