Hey, I was wondering how you guys here did your own tint. Did you make templates? How did you get it in the inside window seal? And HOW did you do the back window? I do have experience and only problem I had was it was windy that day and blowing the tint film around and it made a minor crease in it. Other than that MAYBE a couple small bubbles but not visible unless you are studying the car that hard. Any help would be great. Thanks.

i did mine and took out the roll down windows. I did the back window too took out my rear deck and the 3rd brake light......and there are no bubbles or creases in my stuff

Me too. I've done it on stationary van windows before and that was difficult enough.

and the rear window is the hardest

Best to take your time. Dont worry too much if theres bubbles, you can work those out later. When you get done let it sit in the sun for a day and avoid rolling down windows. Also try to work out any bubbles with something with a flat edge, credit card works good just be cautious with the edges.

get the most expensive stuff you can find

use a hair dryer to get the bubbles and creases out...

i suggest not using a credit card as it can scratch it...

buy a tint kit from walmart, comes with solution (soap) and squeegee and all...

take ur time....

try doing the back window in a couple of strips... less strips the better though...

I'd say have the back window done professionally but the sides you can do yourself relatively easy. Reason I say that is if you screw up on the back and have to remove it you can damage the defroster element.

Get some soap and water and put it into a spray bottle.. make sure the soap is Ammonia Free!!! I cant stress this enough!! it will fade the tint.

Spray down the outside of the window and lay the film on the outside (the soap an water will allow it to tack up on the window so it holds itself there. Make sure you put the side that the peel off is on facing up so that you can apply the tint to the inside of the window in the same oreintation that you are laying it on the outside.

using a hairdrier or other heat gun (not too hot), squeegee the soap and water out from under the film (still on the outside of the car'* window) heating areas to conform it to the window and get any "hills" out of the tint. Once its conformed get a SHARP razorblade and cut around the perimeter of the window.

Now you have a perfectly cut piece for that particular window. Spray the inside with the soap water combo and remove the adhesive protector from the inside of the tint film. place the film on the soap water solution and squeege it out from underneath the tint. As you remove the water the adhesive will make contact with the window. You may need to use the hairdrier to reheat the tint to get any new "hills" out of the tint again but just keep squeezing the water out working from the center out. Thats all.......
