My Bonne'* got a couple entire doors, and an entire trunk lid that looks like the clear coat is gone or something. The finish looks like there is a million scratches going in different directions if you look at the right angle. This is hard to describe, but I assume it'* a factory paint issue because I notice things like 2 of the doors, and part of a rear quarter have this flaw, but the other side, and hood look great. Also, this is on the entire trunk lid, but the fin is perfect. I'll try to take some pics if possible, but it'* hard to capture the actual look because of the camera'* flash..

I'm not sure if it'* sun fade because of things like...the trunk lid has it, but the spoiler doesn't. Also, Mine isn't as bad as yours. Mine might be able to be rubbed out, or something, but i thought I'd ask around here first, before I do something wrong.


It'* really hard for me to describe this, but the car looks nice and shiney, and the affected areas just look a little duller, but not to the point of the paint being gone.

My 1994 Bonne, which was green, had a hood that was like that one real bad spot you have pictured above.

Hopefully we can get some more ideas here.

There'* a product, that WillWren "endorses" all the time, called Liquid Glass. It'* not a permanent fix, but it may help out

Most of the time, the car looks fine, but in the right light, The flaws can be identified.

Looks like you have a bad case of micro marring and spider webbing. It also looks like you use a pretty abrasive material when you wash your car. I would start with polishing the surface and see if the polishing has any effect. Hopefully you have access to a random orbital buffer and a polishing compound such as 3M Perfect It line of products.

To remove the imperfections by hand would be a time consuming task. If you do not have access to the materials then you may want to take your car to a Professional Detailer. From the pictures provided it looks like your paint can be brought back to a blemish free surface

I have to correct you on a couple things, however, your advice is going to probably save my paint, and my wallet..

The corrections: I just bought the car, so, I didn't use any abrassive. The car, as seen in the last pic , has this problem in isolated areas only. Look at the last pic where you see the door/fender. The rest of the car looks like that fender...shiney and smooth. The 2 doors, and the trunk lid are the only real effected areas.

I am going to gather the products you suggested,and an orbital buffer, and probably have at it as soon as the weather breaks here. I will also think about getting a price quote from a collision shop around here. Any idea on what i should expect to pay to have 2 doors and a trunk lid polished/buffed...etc. ?

how does it look from 5-10 ft away?

maybe just replace the doors?
