I have tried meguiars scratch-x and it has done a so so job, I'm not happy with it, I have heard good results from this kit http://www.autogeek.net/diamondite-clear-plastic.html $50 but thats a lot better than $200 for new ones.

3m plastic polish. Does wonders. I found out many times on old Chrysler plastic headlamp lenses, and have used it ever since.
Cleaned the lenses on the 00 SLE VERY NICELY!!! Well worth the $7 I paid at Auto Value.
I believe it can be found in Wal-Mart near the pinstriping/ etc.... I believe I saw it in the 3M section in Automotive a few weeks back, but don't remember the price.

200 for news ones on ebay is a bit more then I would want to spend but I have personally seen people spend hours on headlights they never ever looks new again that or they fog up in less then a week.

try blue magic rim cleaner. put it on and buff it off. it did a pretty good job. i looked into new headlights and they are about 200+ each at the dealer. i like that they say bonneville on them.

I used 1500 grit and 2000grit wet sand paper, then mothers scrach remover then finnaly mothers plastic polish. My 03 sand pitted and hazed lights look new.
When sanding use lots of water. They will look like hell before the two step polishing. Make sure to tape off the headlight so as not to scratch the paint when sanding. I used a polishing wheel in my battery drill for the polishing. Total cost with enough to do three cars was $30.00 and two hours.
