Default Quick Blazertech 3200 Question

...I'm going to go ahead and pull the trigger on these. The price is right plus I want to actually be able to see a difference when I kick my fog lamp switch on.

http://www.autoaccessory4u.com/bldibl32se4r.html

My question is whether or not I have to use any of their wiring/harnesses or if I can simply cut and splice them into my stock wiring, using the same factory switch, etc?

Any other tips, suggestions would be appreciated. If it would be better/safer to use their wiring/harness, I don't have a problem with that.

Anybody know about bracket modifications? I installed a set of Blazertech 2600'* on my '96 Cutlass Supreme two years ago with minor bracket modifications and used the factory wiring/harness.

Thanks.

Use the stock wires, splice and solder, maybe even heat shrink tube, you may have to bend out the brackets to make it fit right, thats what i did with my angel eyes

I'm figuring these will appear somewhat blusish. Is that the bulb or the lens? If it'* the bulb, what kind of "white" replacement bulbs are out there that I can use that are the same wattage? I've read about some Silverstars but just want to make sure I'm getting the correct bulb to fit into these 3200'*. I'm just not a big fan of the blue look.

Thanks.

the blue coatings on the bulbs are normally there to filter out blue light so the output is whiter

OMI, I would not use the stock wiring. The opginial lamps that came with the bonneville are 27W and the are 55W. What I did for mine is run a 15A fused link right off of the battery and ran it right to a 30A relay. Then used the output from the foglights to activate the relay. They are extremely bright.

I am actually a little concerned about the wiring myself and was wanting some input on why or why not I should or should not use the supplied wiring and run the relay vs. using the factory wiring which I know is thin stuff.

Like I said in my original post, I've installed some 2600'* in the past using factory wiring and it worked fine until I sold the car. I always wondered a little about it though.

I welcome your thoughts. Electrical is not my area of expertise by far.

Thanks.

here is what you can do. (which can allow you to keep your wiring 100% stock)

wire the fogs with the harness that comes with them (they will give you a relay and a switch etc. Now, you take the wire that would go to the switch, and connect it to the stock fog light harness. (you can buy a connector so you dont have to cut the stock wiring if you want)

the result is that the fogs are on a fused relay set up but controlled through the factory harness.

I think I may understand it. Basically, I'm taking the white wire (switch wire) and putting a connector on it to hook up to my factory switch connector?

This is from a GP 3200 install.
