received a paint quote today
a friend at work was telling me how he was getting his project truck painted by one of his friends dad, for el cheapo... $2500 less than any other place he looked...
this guy does all his work from his garage, and does high quality work...
i originally wanted to only have this one panel painted, its from when my car was trailered home from kentucky, damn pontiac and their wide track
for just this one panel, labor and paint was $325.. i dropped my jaw.. where is my killer deal???
so im like OK, if its the paint thats costing the most, how about if we work on other areas also... so i showed him all my problems spots
he thinks for a while...
$525...
thats the deal im looking for!!!
thats both doors,
the hood
the front bumper
and that plastic fender piece
i should jump on this right?

not a bad price if he does a good job.
what'* up with the holes around your fog lights, they look like someone kinked them with a hammer.

good price if the work is good, but you have to realize that he will not be using good quality paint product on your car other wise he would be making ZERO profit(YA like thats going to happen ) your also going to have other problems like colour match because if he paints the two doors right at the fenders without painting the fenders aswell the colour will not match, nomatter how good the guy is (i have only seen black match like that) the top layer of paint will need to be striped off because it wasnt saned well enought the last time it was painted (thats why its pealing) you dont want to paint over pealing paint other wise the new paint will come right off with it aswell DUH
as for the fog light there like that because the car have obviusly hit something that wasnt that tall and pushed up the bottoms of the lights and caused them to kink like that, the should be fixable with a heat gun and some paitence

What kind of paint? Single stage? Base clear?
If it'* single stage don't waste your money.
And definitely paint the whole car. There is no way your going to match 6 year old paint unless you blend it in....which is more work than to just paint the whole thing.
I'm with Peterg22000 on stripping the hood. That will really make it come out looking like glass.
And if you do get it painted take everything apart. (spoiler, mirrors, lights, etc.)

Whoa what happened to make it look liek that so soon? My 99 has very little rust in two areas not noticable far away until you're face to face with it.
