Default Exhaust Tip Quote

So both the tips have officially rusted and fallen off my '98. One fell off driving home yesterday, requiring me to pull over, and run across the road to grab it before some big truck ran over it.... but that'* beside the point.

I need new ones, so I went to the local custom exhaust place to see how much they wanted for new ones and installation.

They said $300 CDN ($270 USD) total for a pair of magnaflow tips including installation, and making them all look good.
These ones to be specific.

I felt this was high considering the tips are about $120 for both, so that'* like $180 for the installation?????

What has anyone else paid to buy and install tips? What'* a fair price?

Thanks for any input.

Talk to this guy.....LOL

You're both looking at the same thing and he mumbled something about 200 dollars US vs 270.

IOM, for an exhaust tip install, that'* highway robbery. It makes a difference as to how many exhaust shops are in your area, but even if they were to have to cut and then weld, you should be able to get the labor done for around $50.

I was looking at your install the other day, that'* pretty much what I exactly want to end up with, I really like that.

Thanks everyone, I'm going to check out other suppliers/installers today. I'll report back.

Yea, I just called my local car repair place and they said $50ish CDN. So that sounds better.

I'm really liking those tips you got on EBay Bill. How were they regarding shipping times?

I got a set put on for 30 bucks after calling around, you got to watch these guys make sure you are there watching , they put mine on a bit crooked and the weld looks pretty crappy, Icould have done better(but you cant see it under the car).I dont like mine thats why I am looking to change but I think I will find someone else to install if I get the pretty magnaflows. All I am saying is watch when they install if you can.Heres my crooked ones,I also want rolled ends

OK, so we went over to PartSource the big chain parts store and they had some Ractive BLACK CHROME wide ovals, which were just beautiful and the black chrome I thought would look epic on the car.

So we picked one up, the guy gave us a really good deal, so it was worth a shot.

They won't get another one in until tomorow morning, so there'* just one installed for now.

I'll provide pics later, cause I'm just going out for a while now, looks REAL good though.
