polishing gone bad :(
well, decided to polish the Riviera for the first time yesterday using the Meguiar'* 3 step system. Well, I did teh paint cleaning and it turned out great. Then I went to polish it and it went on good and came off good, and I did it a second time. then I applied the Gold Class Paste wax. The car looks absolutely awesome I'm thinking. It looks like a mirror and all the paint on the car looks brand new just like the paint on the hood. I just can't believe how shiny it is. Looks like a mirror. The paint has great depth now! The only problem though, is when I brought the car back outside, you can see a milky kind of "swirling" that won't rub off. *question* Do you really have to use a buffer to polish the car? The bottle of polish did not say you needed to use a buffer or anything to do it. I figured it'd be fine just putting it on an applicator then went through 5 or so cotton cloths getting it off. any ideas why the paint looks milky under sunlight up close?

Yes you need a buffer for that. Its not one of those quick do it yourself jobs like having a rag or old t-shirt when deeling with certain waxes. If you did get a good buffer, that swirl will come off.

ok, from here where do I go then? Since I already applied wax on top of the polish isn't buffing it at this point going to prove useless? If I just leave it as it is (it'* not that horrible until you look really close at it in certain light) it'* not going to perminently damage the paint or anything, right?
