Default Body piece broke off...

:? I try to be patient, I really do. And so far my wife has loved me for every time she'* told me about something she'* done to my car, because I don't really get upset about it...

Anyway, my wife ran over another curb, a particularly large one this time. She broke off a piece of the body cladding right in front of the left rear tire. We went back and got the piece.

My question is this: Does anyone know the best way to put it back on? Super glue? JB Weld? What?

Thanks....

I would try some 3M double sided foam tape. i think that is what was used from the factory. You might try Lowes or home Depot for the tape.

How "broke" is it? Did the part itself rip in two, or did it mearly get pulled off your car?

Lowes or HD won't have the right tape.

Go to the auto parts store and get the 3M Body and Trim adhesive tape. It'* gray foamy tape with a red plastic backing. This is what it'* designed for. Get both pieces VERY clean first.

You'll find the tape in the bondo/pinstriping/body work aisle.

In the panel right under the door, right in front of the rear tire, she popped out a hole that is like a diamond shape. My car is in the shop right now, or I'd take a pic of it, but here is a drawing with the approximate size, shape and location of the hole. I have the piece that fits right in:

So, the tape will hold that on well and be unnoticeable? I figured that JB Weld with a bit of fine sanding and buffing would be a way to go. Just wanted to clarify what I was talking about.

Forget the tape. I thought a piece of trim came loose.

You best bet would be super glue, but try it on a piece of your trim where it isn't noticable first, super glue melts through some plastics.
