Paint the peeling sunroof trim?
The exterior black trim (if that'* what you want to call it) around my sunroof is peeling a bit... it'* silver underneath. Would black touch-up be sufficient to cover it back up, or is there something else that would hold up a little better? TIA -

Go to Techinfo and read the article on changing the sunroof seal. Order it (cheap). When it comes, follow the procedure for removing the glass. Remove the old seal, then mask the glass off leaving the trim exposed.
Spray paint it a satin or flat black.
Install the new trim, and put the glass back.
I took this opportunity when my seal needed to be replaced. Glad I did it. It looks much better. Just don't brush anything on. It'll never look right.
I'm not sure about the pre-92'*, but the 92'* have a matching trim ring around the opening in the roof the the car. That one will be harder to deal with, unless it'* easily removed. 93 and newer don't have this. (the sunroof switches in a 92 are alse seperate switches, where 93+ have a rocker switch). This has been verified on two 92SSEi'* now.

I guess I should have specified... this is for the sunroof on my '99 Aurora, although the Techinfo article may still apply if GM used the same design across model lines. I don't think my seal is bad tho... should I replace it anyway as a prevention? My only problem is what I would call the outer "trim ring" although I'm not sure if that'* officially what it is. My roof is controlled by a rocker switch, like the later model Bonnys.

It'* just easier to do this if you remove the seal. That way you don't have to mask the rubber seal, and you don't get a paint 'edge there. Removing the stock seal and trying to replace it afterwards might stretch the seal. If it'* the OEM seal, it'* 5, maybe 6 years old right now. Would be good maintenance to replace it. They usually fail in the 8-10 year range.
