Depends on your location. In my area they will pull you over and ticket you if your lights look tinted or off color at all. I can almost guarentee its not legal in your area, but it really depends on whether it is enforced.

in south florida its 100% legal as long as lights can be seen at night from 1000 feet, aqnd brake lights can be seen from 300 feet. its still flat black, but i like em that way.

same here, 150 meters and 300 for brakes
i ordered the flim for mine to try it just for the heck of it
and i might be doing the head lightss, and fogs... just for the summr lol

Title 14, Chapter 246, §14-96l(a) specifies 1000' for the headlights and taillights, and §14-96r(a) specifies 300' for the brake lights in full sunlight.
Once I find a thousand-foot measuring tape, I'm tinting the taillights. In the front, I'll be happy with just cleared corners.

So it seems. I checked Connecticut'* motor vehicle laws, and that'* what'* legal here, too:
