Couldn't you just tint the insides of the plastic so you wouldn't have to worry about it as much?

It is hard to open up the rear lights without destroying them.

What'* the legality of this mod? I went to Advance and found that tinting spray, but it said it was for off-road use only.

Depends on your location. In my area they will pull you over and ticket you if your lights look tinted or off color at all. I can almost guarentee its not legal in your area, but it really depends on whether it is enforced.

So it seems. I checked Connecticut'* motor vehicle laws, and that'* what'* legal here, too:

Title 14, Chapter 246, §14-96l(a) specifies 1000' for the headlights and taillights, and §14-96r(a) specifies 300' for the brake lights in full sunlight.

Once I find a thousand-foot measuring tape, I'm tinting the taillights. In the front, I'll be happy with just cleared corners.

Oh ok so the 1000ft is for at night and 300 for during the day. Makes sense now
