Tom... Some of the ads here have shows that Autotopia supposedly regarded Ultima as being better than Zaino... If anyone knows..I assume you've already read up on it.

The owner of Autopia is actually the one who has made the Ultima products, hence the ad saying it'* better. I've only read a little bit on the stuff so far, but it sounds like a lot of people are saying it'* pretty comparable to Zaino. Like with Zaino, the Ultima is a bit too expensive for me, but supposedly you don't need much so it will last like 50 applications.

Agreed. Also, zaino is sort of a beotch by hand, definately reccomend a good random orbital at the minimum.

I watched tom put on some zaino and it seemed pretty easy with an orbital. And seeing the before and after was pretty amazing.

What am I doing wrong - Zaino is by far the easiest "wax" I've ever used.

I believe that the Zaino is very easy to apply by hand. The part where the DA comes into play is for buffing and polishing. Acually applying the Zaino sealant is very very easy. Wipe it on the whole car with a microfiber pad, wait a few minutes, then buff it off by hand with a good microfiber towel. You don't even have to really buff hard, just a light buff will work.

I once thought the same thing. I just ordered some Zaino products for a co-worker after she seen it on my cars. Order totaled $63.30 with shipping. Included the Z5, Z2, ZFX flash cure accelerator, and a microfiber pad. I am thinking that this should last her about 1 year on both of her cars ( '02 Bonneville SLE and '04 Chrysler 300 C ) It takes such a small amount to do a car, and it lasts for a very long time. I too will be ordering the Zaino very soon.

I have not used the Ultima, nor have I ever seen anyone use it, but I am Zaino all the way. The stuff is increadible, and untill I see with my own eyes something that is better, Zaino is the way for me. I just love the way that my cars can look extremy dirty ( to MY standards ) and I can go to the car wash, use ONLY the spray soap and spot free rinse, and the car comes out looking like I just applied Zaino again.

Zaino is the best and easiest to use I have never once had to use a machine to remove it, Ill leave it on the car sitting in the garage for days before removal. Id stick with the zaino, but thats my opinon,

I have never tried the Ultima either. I tried Zaino about 5 years ago and have never looked back. I used to use the Mothers 3 step process and it is a fine system as well.

Grimm will probably have me try the Collinite on our family van in the near future. I like the way his Bonneville shines and his testimonial to the longevity of the product.

When all is said and done to do nothing to protect your cars finish is not the way to go. A lot of us here use a wide variety of products with a high degree of success. My hat is off to all of us that protect the finish and post the pics in the Your Ride Forum. Hey we all like to view the pics!

I don't have experience with a lot of waxes/sealants, but IMO if you do a good polish on the paint it won't really matter what you use. People that do it a lot, like as a business, say they can see the difference from one wax to another, but I've yet to see much of a difference. That is the reason I won't spend the $$ for something like Zaino. Durability and other qualities are my main concern, and you can't beat Collinite for it'* combination of durability and low price. I think my mission now is to find a wax that is good at protection from pollen and other debris that sticks to the paint since we have so much of that in Michigan. I haven't had Collinite on during the spring, so I have yet to rate the product on that aspect.
