Default anybody got new leather?

Hey has anyone redone the leather in their car? I'm looking at Katzkins ($750) and Customized Factory Interiors a.k.a. leatherseats.com ($675) for new leather covers. I know it ain't really difficult, just time consuming. I am wondering about quality though... I mean, is it going to hold up and feel luxurious, or remind me of a Kia Optima every time I get in?

At $750 for Katzkins, you must either be getting one heck of a deal or you are installing them yourself?

I was quoted just under a grand for two tone seats. From what I understand, there is no extra charge for different colors, just different materials.

Yeah I don't see the point to having them installed. I think you can order right off the web. It'* not that hard to redo the seats, just takes patience.

I'm thinking of going with a stock-like tan seat with a burgundy insert and changing to a burgundy carpet and redoing the headliner, so as to color-key with a 93 burgundy exterior.

We think alike... I was thinking of tan with green perforated centers.

Cows are cows so the leather'* going to be the same. I have researched Katzkin but not the other company you mentioned so I'm not sure how the sewing and fit quality would compare.

I would, however, make sure that the covers are for your style seat i.e. 6 way power vs 12 way with lumbar. On a Katzkin dealer'* website, it did not give the two seat styles as options. Only bench vs bucket.

Keep us posted on what you decide.

How could the power seat options make a difference in the seat cover? Or do you mean the cutout on the seat for the high trimmed SE'*?

The bajillion way seats are a lil bigger on the bolsters because their'* move in and out. (they also wear a lot more too) Tilting headrests have a different cut on the bottom as well.

Right. With the front bucket seats, the bottoms are the same, it'* the seatbacks and headrests that are different. Here'* another thread that shows the difference between the 6-way and 12-way power seats.
