New Tire Cleaning...
Ok so I just got new tires about 3 weeks ago now and I have tried just about every wheel cleaner I can find without success. Even Simple Green didn't touch this crap on my tires... My old mainstay of Castrol Tire & Wheel cleaner that works great at removing brake dust and road grime from my rims did absolutely NOTHING to this gunk. Straight out of the tire shop I noticed a milky residue over the entire tire. Now it has worn off of the tread, but not off of the sidewalls. I have scrubbed the crap out of the drivers side tires to get them semi-nice, but they still aren't perfect.
Here'* a pic from the day I had them put on:
*Click on the pic for the full res shot, but be aware that it will be slow!*
Any suggestions? Anyone else ever have an experience like this? They are Hankook Ventus Sport K104s in 255/50R17.
Please help!!! This is driving me nuts!

Standard cleanser like Dawn or something? I have used dawn and a plastic bristled brush that generally use on the rims... That'* what I tried the first day...

That'* exactly what I am going to pick up on my way home tonight. I've been told to use that and that I shouldn't have a problem. Most all of the products (dawn & simple green aside) that I have used up until now have not been specifically for tires. Whitewall wash hopefully will clean this garbage off for me. Figured I'd ask here first.

Like you'd use in a stainless steel sink. I use it all the time on my truck tires. Cleans out dirt and embedded crap to restore a nice black look.

Well. Did the bleach-white thing. Didn't clean the tires like I'd hoped. After I let things dry off, the pass side ones just looked a cleaner shade of milky black... I decided to put some Meguiars tire gel on them anyhow (haven't done that step yet) and what do ya know. Black and beautiful. We'll see how long it lasts and what happens the next time I wash them. There were still some blotchy areas to the rubber, but looked good none-the-less.
I didn't allow much of the bleach-white stuff onto the rims and rinsed everything off very well.
Thanks for the help. Has anyone else had this happen with their new tires? Seems weird to say the least...
