But in your case Mike, Verizon would be your better carrier based on your location in PA. With my experience roaming the foot hills of Central and Northern PA, Verizon has the best coverage vs the other competitors.

thats true, especially in buildings verizon has been better. but att has been getting a ton better the last couple years, when i got my house the work phone was the only one i could make a call from at my house but i had to go out in my driveway to do it. now both i can make get 2, or 3 of 5 in my house, which is a good call on a digital phone.

I have a Galaxy S4 on Verizon. Only bad part about Verizon is you can't get the Nexus or Google Edition phones.

Did you have issues when they did the new Android update? Att pushed it without asking and it totally screwed up my phone. I was in a hotel and using the phone to get up for school, the time ended being off and it wasn't signed into the tower so I wasn't getting calls or texts. The only thing I could do is the factory reset to start working again. But I lost all my apps and contacts. I already had written them down because I don't trust the phone though. It ended up being sort of good it gets more battery life but it used to be way quicker to turn the data on and off now you have to go through a bunch of menus

The Google Nexus phone was the phone I thought matched everything I wanted, came unlocked, Android OS that only contained base apps (no cell provider apps), price was $200 less than Galaxy 5. I was dissapointed to learn Verizon would not let the Google phones on its network, the unofficial reason given to me is Verizon does not want phones that come unlocked on the Verizon network- to easy to switch providers.

I am now searching this Amazon link looking at unlocked phones that will work with Verizon- maybe a international version? http://www.amazon.com/*/ref=sr_pg_2?...qid=1411912634

After reading this article, it implies that of the four big wireless providers, only AT&T and T-Mobile phones can easily move between each provider. Sprint and Verizon users are locked to their provider and if they want to change they need to buy a new phone.

One can only imagine is T-Mobile and ATT merger had happened- our bills and terms would be even uglier than they are now.

I moved over to Canadian Satellite over DISH and Direct TV. Wish I could move over to Canadian cell service....

I am not sure you would want our cell services.
Expensive, lack of coverage and competition. Only major areas have decent coverage.

In the mountains and across remote areas of this vast wonderful country of ours, a trucker is required to have satellite phone for emergencies.

All I know is my Shaw Direct Satellite is half the price of Dish or Direct TV per month. No contracts, no BS. Plan is simple- pay and you get service, don't pay and Shaw shuts off the service. I can live with that. When I moved to AZ the place I stayed had Direct TV already hard wired into the place. Direct would only sign me up if I did a two year deal. For a month to month Direct TV deal where I did my own install and provided my own hardware, Direct wanted 250 percent more per month over their normal subscription. All a con so you sign a two year deal, and then they can raise the price when they want to and charge huge fees if you miss a payment, etc. Shaw is super easy, when you call for support you get a person who knows what they are talking about.

I was thinking cell phone service might have been as good as satellite service in Canada. I suspect Canadian law is why Shaw direct is so user friendly- I suppose Canada doesn't allow oligopolies that are awarded bandwidth rights the right to exploit a customer who has very limited choices to select another vendor.

I am still amazed every household in America that has Cable or Satellite TV pays ESPN over $5 per month for the channel. The payment is mandatory and hidden in the monthly bill. ESPN is full of commercials, the games the show have commercials all over the field, and every household with cable or satellite MUST pay them $5 per month, even if they never watch the channel. Can you say the game is rigged against the consumer in USA cable and satellite ....

Here is an interesting Canadian read. Gov't want to cap pricing and stop the bundling of channels and allow Canadians to finally pick what stations they want into their homes. It is coming soon....
Who
Many here pay 125+ $ per month for cable TV and u dont have much choice is selecting the stations u currently want.
