Default Windows 10 and Norton 360

Don't download and install Win 10. Norton products are not compatible with Windows 10. Probably McAfee also.

Yea me too, but I bit the bullet and tried the pre-release beta test. The thing that sucks is, even if I were to buy a license for it, I still have to reinstall the entire OS.

i never cared much for microsoft, they are more interested in making a profit than something that works properly

I gave up on Norton products about 15 years ago when Norton Disk Optimizer killed my hard drive. My dad insists on buying it every year for his machines and every year he screws something up trying to install it. The only thing it seems to do is generate incessant renewal notices.

Question is, can you prove that NDO killed your HDD?

The computer was running NDO at the moment the hard drive died. The machine was only about a year old and just barely out of warranty. I've never touched a Norton product since and never will again.o

That'* still not proof that Norton killed your HDD. Your HDD simply died prematurely. They don't last forever nor do they last 10 minutes out of the box. You're simply accusing Norton because its the easiest.

I understand what you're saying but I still firmly believe NDO is what kicked it over the edge although just how hard of a kick it delivered may be somewhat debatable.

In the end, I think it'* best we just respectfully agree to disagree. I accept that we have differing opinions to which we are inclined to stick and that'* okay.
