The Very First Bonneville???
#11
yes i know this one. It'* a beauty! I have a shot of it from the front (i can see if i can post it somehow if anyone wants to see it). Anyway it'* a real slick car! I heard this is Pontiac'* original concept for the then Bonneville. It was based on the corvette body as mentioned earlier and it is called the Bonneville Special. Pontiac made it for concept and it never got the green light for production and the rest is history !
mike diaz.
p.*. would have been interesting to see how far the bonneville would have gone / lasted etc if it was a corvette like car!

Is this a picture of the long lost twin of the car I originally posted??? If so then the date of this photo should be 1956 not 1954, but who know???.

Yesssir that'* the picture i have which i mentioned a posts up. Same Bonneville Special. I'm guessing either the dates are wrong or maybe Pontiac developed it for a while. Maybe they ar eboth from '54 since I doubt it woudl change so drastically from 56 to 57 when it was produced as the big beast we know. I wonder how today'* bonnevilles would be like if they had started as that, a corvette based sports car... Oh well i bet chevy would have put a stop to its production some how

This is to give you an idea of what the "Bonneville Special" could have become had it been developed on the Corvette platform.

1967 Bonneville with a custom "continental" kit. A far cry from the 70 Banchee posted above.
