Default Problems finding a new intake manifold for my 64´

Hey guys!

First of, sorry for my bad english. Im from Denmark, and therefore not used to writing in english that much.

I have a problem wich i hope someone here might be able to help me solve.

I have a Bonneville 389cui from 1964, and i would like to fit it with a new crank, intake manifold and carb.

My huge problem is that i cannot seem to find any manifolds that are fitted for my 64, do you guys have any idea why? and if it possible to get somewhere?

Regards
Ole Dahl

Have you tried searching places like Summit and Jegs for aftermarket performance parts?

I'm sure that I can help you. I do have a 64 3x2 bare intake, but I can get you a 4 bbl intake also.

You need the intake from the 61-64 period. It will have one extra bolt hole..

I have a 64 389 4 bbl intake if your interested...

I don't understand why you want to change the stock set up. The factory Carter AFB is an excellent carb that is much better then the new Edelbrock AFB. The stock 4 bbl set up is perfect for the 389....

The Bell crank for the linkage is designed for this intake.. When I switched the motor in my 64 Bonneville to a 455 I had to make extensive modifications to the bell cranks mounting and ratio.. The Quadrajet carb has a different length of movement and I had to move the transmission ball lower to get the desired ratio for the Hydra-matics TV rod...

A improperly installed TV rod can burn the transmission up...

If your car needs a new carb there are people who still sell them along with rebuild kits.....

Hmm nice, then i think ill try and have my carb rebuild. If a carter carb is as good as people say, there is absolutely no reason is replacing it.

Thanks.
