Default Some electrical bugs in my '83

My dome light doesn't come on when any doors are opened and my radio doesn't work. Before I tear the dash apart does anyone have a clue what it could be? I checked and replaced fuses (in case they were bad but still looked ok)but still nothing.

Also, is the radio supposed to illuminate with the dash lights at night?

Now don't take this the wrong way, but you did not mention if you replaced the dome light bulb with a new one. Can you manually turn the dome light on with the headlight switch turned all the way to the right???

Is this an OEM Radio? I replaced mine and the new one came with a separate in-line fuse. So maybe you might want to trace the the power lead from the radio to see if there is another fuse there. And if the radio is wired correctly, it should light up with the headlights.

Default Light

Already checked the bulb- I switched it with one I knew that worked, and tried the headlight switch right when I knew it wasn't working, still nothing. The courtesy light under the dash works though, so the door switches are ok. Maybe a wire got loose up there. I have to redo the headliner anyway so I'll check it out. Good tip on the inline fuse- never gave that a thought. It is the OEM radio, the old school pushbutton type

Default Radio

Got the radio working today, just a loose connector on the back. Power antenna works fine too. Next project is the dome light, probably something simple too. The car only has 70k so it'* still in pretty intact.
