1986 Bonneville 3.8 won't start?
Hello, I currently own a 1986 will a 3.8 2bbl v6. Right now I cannot get the vehicle to start. Engine will try to start but dies immediately. I am getting fuel and spark. I was wondering if there is a computer somewhere that is not letting it start? I would greatly appreciate any help on what this problem might be! Thanks!

Hi and welcome to BC!
Sorry for the delay in answering. I guess we don't have that many folks with experience with the older models that come on real often. A couple things:
There are so many things that you should check: Fuel filter, sensors (check fo good connections and whether they are working), clogged CAT? for starters. I don't know what you've tried.
Do you know how to pull codes on it?
Have you purchased a Chilton'* manual for it? If not, I recommend you do so, not only for help on this prblem, but for all future reference. The $15 or so is money well spent and you won't regret it.

I've tried pulling codes from it with using the proper code reading tool and the service engine soon light wouldn't even flash, it just stayed lit the whole time. Thats why I believe it might be a ECM problem but I never was sure. I cannot locate the computer and was wondering if anybody might no where it can be found?
The problem seems more ignition related then anything because the car is getting fuel to the carbeurator. The car is also looks like it is getting a healthy spark. I have tried using starting fluid and it didn't even make a difference. The car has 122k miles on it if it makes a difference. Thank you for the help!
