Winding down noise when stopping
2005 Venture 107K miles. I get a low toned winding down noise when slowing to a stop. Occasionally I get a bump before starting from a stop. Had transmission service about 24K ago.
Please tell me its something that I won't lose my shirt over.
Thanks!

sound like some thing to do with your brakes, kinda hard to narrow it down over the internet, since we cant hear the sound. if you have drums in the back some times those will start doing that when they wear out or you have a hardware failure

Somewhere, don't know where right now, I read there was a special process to checking the transmission fluid. That it'* not just a matter of pulling the stick. Can someone enlighten me?
Thanks!
Thanks!

What Justin said, that and I always wait till the engine is warm, then I pull the stick and wipe it off, then I put it back in for a second or two, and then pull it out to get the reading.
You could just rely on the first reading, but this is how I have always checked mine.

Winding down noise
Finally, I found a place and other noise conditions played nice where I could hear. Yes, I do have it when slowing down, going uphill without applying the brakes.
