Default Power steering leak

My 06 Monte developed a power steering leak. It is up top around the pump (I think). I changed the pump, which didn't fix it, so thinking I got a bad pump, I got a replacement under warranty. That was not it. I just got it back from my mechanic, and even he could not find it. He thought it was the pressure line line (It only seems to leak when the wheel is turned) so he replaced it, but that did not do it. (He never charged me anything since the leak didn't get fixed) The rack is not leaking, as it is dry. The problem is that it is leaking on the belt, and the fluid is getting everywhere. Is there something that I can do to find the leak, or at least where to check for leaks? As far as I can tell, all the line fittings are good.

Check your oil pressure sensor(and check your oil level too)

The sensors are prone to leakage.

best thing to do for checking for leaks is spray it down with degreaser like simple green and clean everything off, because after a while the whatever gets all over and you cant see the source because its everywhere. after that i would look at it from the bottom up because you can see things easier that way

For a power steering leak???

Clean it up so you can see where it is leaking. The most common area prone to leaking is where the high pressure line connects to the pump, but after all the work you have done it could be anywhere. Look for spots where the pressure or return lines are rubbing against something.

Roy, both him and his mechanic suspected the power steering pump which was replaced TWICE. I only offered the oil pressure sensor idea because its KNOWN to leak and its located right below the power steering pump.

Next question should be, is he actually needing to top the power steering fluid off?

I finally found the leak. It was the power steering cooler tube. It looks like it may have popped up and rubbed against the pulley. Every time the wheel was turned, it sprayed fluid directly onto the belt. Just so I could stop the leak, I bypassed the tube.
Another question I have, should I replace the cooler tube, or would it be fine with the bypass?

The cooler has a purpose. To prevent premature failure of the oil in the power steering system. I'd get it replaced soon. If you can't find an oem one, use an external trans cooler.
