Default Sunroof wont park

My friend has a 2004 monte and the sunroof wont park, it will vent and open all the way but dosent want to go back and park. I figured its the same sunroofs the grand prixs have and impalas have, any suggestions on a fix ? My only idea is to grease and clean the tracks

It won't close, or when it closes it won't stop at the park position?

Most likely the drive gear has skipped on the cable drive gear, and lost "home" position. You need to drop the headliner to access the drive motor, and reposition the gear on the drive motor to line up properly with the cable gear. If the sunroof is in the closed position, I believe there will be a mark on each gear that you line up.

On a Bonneville, the sunroof drive motor is rearward of the sunroof opening.
