Hi Guys.... Please don't crucify me for coming to the chevy forum with a Saab issue....

My 2007 Saab 93 turbo has a GM produced 2.8L turbo engine. 116,000 miles. Auto 6 speed transmission.

I had a P0305 CEL. (misfire cylinder 5). Since I just purchased the vehicle a few weeks ago, I bought a new coil and 6 new plugs for my mechanic to install. Yes, I decided my days of working on cars was over, so I let him do it.

As soon as he replaced the plugs and the coil, it won't start. Before the spark plug install, the only code was the P0305. Now its showing a half dozen or more codes, ranging from gear box to ECU... it'* all over the place.

Any ideas folks? It'* on him to fix it, because it ran when it went in, but I'll help if I can.

Seriously, he drove it into the garage, changed the spark plugs and the #5 coil, and it'* just sitting there. Won't start.

If I remember right, this is a coil on plug engine?

so you bought a coil for cylinder 5?

But there were other possibilities, like #5 injector, wiring, control module, compression, etc....

You took a chance on being a parts changer.....

Should have checked coil output first.....swapped a plug...checked compression in the cylinder.....

We have no idea of what your tech did...left something disconnected? Shorted something out? Has he ever worked on a Saab?

It is a coil on plug engine.

Have you tried to access the plugs 1, 3, and 5 on this engine? Not fun placement.

Sure, it COULD be an injector, etc, but that doesn't explain what is going on now.

If he shorted something out, it'* on him to fix it (it is right now anyway, as far as I'm concerned).

If it had been 2, 4, or 6.... I'd have ventured changing them myself. It'* a 2.8L General Motors engine. In a Saab. It'* not a Lamborghini. LOLOL

I think a little more detail is needed here. What does "won't start" mean here? Turns over but doesn't fire up? Doesn't turn over at all? Key-on no lights? Key-to-start and nothing? Key-to-start and "click"? Etc.?

This isn't the mechanics first Saab.

Won't start.... It turns like crazy, but will not fire up.

Now I see it has a 'limited performance' code on the dash.

Replaced battery too. Still says limited performance, and will not start. I can hear fuel pump when turning ignition to on.

This seems crazy. Replaced plugs and one coil.... And it won't start. Now it sits until Monday when they bring in the tech2 scanner.

Mechanic seems to think its not getting fuel.

We can here the fuel pump.... What would stop fuel pressure to all cylinders if the pump is running?

Is there something in the alarm system? I've never seen anything like this.

Did he spray carb cleaner into the intake while cranking, to see if it was a fuel delivery problem? Either no pressure, or the injectors are not firing....

Update

I have 6 codes for circuit low on fuel injectors. (0264,0267,0270,0273,0276) only have 6 injectors... So......

Also have:

2092 camshaft positioning
0091 fuel pump regulator
0458 evap purge control
2088 camshaft position actuator
1896. Trans downshift circuit

Anyone wanna bet these are all on one of the ECM harnesses they removed????

I can't find a diagram to tell me which pin goes to what area of the car.

Any further thoughts anyone? Would like to find that ecm diagram but Google has failed me.

Ok. He'* had the car seven days now. For spark plugs and a coil.

I'm pissed beyond belief. I stopped in at 2:30 in the afternoon today, and it hasn't been touched.

It still won't start. Engine codes as listed in previous post.

None of those existed before the tune up.

Am I brung impatient? I think his guy Fd up my car, and he can't fix it. I think he should tow it to a dealer, and if it'* fouled up because of their work, he should pay for it.

Am I wrong? Guys, I drove it in. Now it won't start.

Well, this isn't getting much traction, but that'* ok.

I have made an appointment with a certified Saab reapir shop (a dealership) and my mechanic assured me if his guys screwed it up, he will pay for it.

It won't get looked at until next week, but when I find out what the problem is, I will post it just for posterity. Often it seems problems are posted, and no one posts the final outcome! It'* like tearing the last chapter out of the mystery novel.
