Default 2001 Chevrolet Impala Shift Conversion

Vehicle: 2001 Impala Base Trim

Hey guys! I'm relatively new to this forum, and this is going to be my first post. I was looking for some guidance for my upcoming project, and I figured that this was the best place to start. Anyway, here'* the situation. I was to convert the shifter in my 2001 Impala from a column shift to a floor shift. Now at this point, I know I will need a new seat (to replace the bench seat already in there), the center console, and most likely the steering column. There'* a salvage yard near me that has all the right parts. I need some guidance though on how to do it. I've never done a project this big before, so I need all the help I can get. I would greatly appreciate it guys! If you have further questions, please ask and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks!

Should be a fairly straight forward project. It'* a mater of changing the linkages to the floor shift. May need to move some wiring.

Is there a linkage conversion kit that I need or something? Or just reconnecting the linkages? I really need all the help I can get. xD

not likely that many have done this before, the linkage is like a bycicle cable i would grab the one off the console shift car incase its different and if you are pulliung these parts yourself pay attention to how it hooks to the trans compared to yours. camera phones and lots of pics will save you.
